First Aston Martin DB12 sells for £1.3M

Aston Martin's awe-inspiring DB12 grand tourer has recently been sold to its first customer at a charity auction held in France. The winning bid reached an impressive £1.3 million, and the proceeds from the sale will support the aid research foundation amfAR. This exclusive event took place during the amfAR Gala, which coincided with the renowned 2023 Cannes Film Festival. The auction attracted a star-studded audience, including prominent celebrities such as actors Ed Westwick and Amy Jackson, rapper Queen Latifah, models Heidi Klum and Bianca Balti, and athlete Alica Schmidt.

The fortunate buyer emerged victorious after engaging in a bidding war with rival participants, ultimately securing ownership of the stunning DB12 grand tourer. As the first customer to acquire this highly coveted vehicle, they will have the privilege of owning a Launch Edition DB12. Aston Martin's Chief Creative Officer, Marek Reichman, has ensured that this edition is truly exceptional. It features unique signatures from current Aston Martin Formula 1 racing drivers Lance Stroll and Fernando Alonso, adding an extra touch of exclusivity. Moreover, the car proudly showcases Aston Martin's hero colour for the DB12, an exquisite Q by Aston Martin paint finish known as Iridescent Emerald. This special paint finish incorporates a captivating blend of gold xirallic pigment, which produces a stunning bronze-coloured highlight when illuminated by specific lighting conditions.

The DB12 features a Mercedes-Benz AMG-sourced twin-turbo 4.0-liter V-8 to deliver an impressive 671 hp,  a rear-mounted 8-speed automatic transmission, and a high-tech dash that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
