Aston Martin debuts the DB12: The World's First Super Tourer

We still don't know who the next Bond will be but we know what he'll be driving!

Aston Martin have unveiled the successor to it's popular DB11: the DB12, which is said to be the worlds first 'Super Tourer'.

The DB12. Set to hit the market in the third quarter of this year. The DB12 signals the beginning of an exciting new chapter for Aston Martin. Priced from £185,000, this stunning sports car is the first in a line-up of eight new models planned for launch by 2026, including replacements for the Vantage and DBS.

The Aston Martin DB12 is a true masterpiece, boasting over 80 percent of new components that elevate both its performance and luxury. Its wider and more aggressive appearance leaves behind the GT aesthetics in favour of a bolder and more assertive design language. Aston Martin describes it as "bold and assertive" and emphasizes its "power and potency." The front grille, machined from metal, is wider and taller, while the front and rear tracks feature pumped-up arches and swollen haunches. Not only does the DB12 look striking, but its aerodynamics have also been significantly improved, with features like air curtains and a deployable rear aero blade.

Underneath the captivating bodywork, Aston Martin engineers have reimagined the DB12's chassis and suspension for enhanced performance. The car's structure has been reinforced, resulting in a seven percent increase in torsional stiffness. Suspension upgrades, including improved adaptive dampers, deliver superior response and body control, making every drive exhilarating. The electric power steering system has been fine-tuned to provide enhanced on-centre feel and responsiveness, offering a more engaging and connected driving experience.

The heart of the Aston Martin DB12 lies in its overhauled Mercedes-AMG sourced 4-litre twin-turbo V8 engine. Extensive modifications, such as modified cam profiles, larger turbos, and improved cooling, have unleashed its true potential. The power output has soared to 671bhp, while peak torque reaches an impressive 590lb ft. These enhancements are complemented by an improved cooling system, an upgraded gearbox, and optimized shift feel, resulting in blistering acceleration and a top speed of 202mph.
