BMW shows off its new XM

It'll be the first original M since the M1 in 1978

BMW revealed its brand new XM model, the first ever BMW XM and the first M original since the M1 in 1978.

BMW UK tweeted: "800 Nm of V8 hybrid-electric torque, and 650 hp. The first-ever BMW XM has all the performance you’d expect from BMW M while taking a powerful turn towards the future."

Full technical specifications 

The BMW XM features a 4.4 litre twin-turbo V8 petrol plug-in hybrid engine that BMW claims will output up to 650Bhp and 590 pound-feet of torque. It has a 25.7kWh battery with a range of 30 miles.

Interior

BMW offer a duel tone interior with Vintage Coffee Merino leather on the dashboard and door trims and Soft Nappa leather on the seats. The interior also has an illuminated headliner.

Release and cost

The BMW XM is expected to arrive in the UK, early 2023 and will be priced at around £145,000, which is up there with a year old Aston Martin DBX.

BMW also plan on releasing a Label Red XM featuring a red trim and a faster 740bhp engine.
